This is always a fan-favorite meal! It’s the perfect combination of smokey and sweet with a crispy breadcrumb topping. Whether you need an easy Sunday meal for the family or a meal to last you through the entire week then this is for you! I recommend serving the dish with jasmine rice and steamed green beans (or your favorite veggie of choice). 🙂
Ingredients:
2 lbs. ground turkey
1 cup Stubb’s Hickory Bourbon BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons avocado oil
1 sweet white onion (minced)
2 large cloves garlic (minced)
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 large brown egg
¼ cup white wine (Chardonnay)
1 ½ cups Italian bread crumbs
¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
Smoked paprika
Directions:
1. Add 2 tablespoons of avocado oil to a pan on medium-high heat.
2. Sauté onions with ½ teaspoon salt and ½ teaspoon pepper for 5 minutes.
3. Turn the pan up to high and add the white wine. Cook for 3 more minutes until the wine has cooked off.
4. Add the garlic and cook for about 2 to 3 more minutes until the garlic is fragrant.
5. In a large mixing bowl, combine the sauté, ground turkey, liquid smoke, BBQ sauce, egg, onion powder, garlic powder, ½ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon pepper, and 1 cup of bread crumbs. Combine all of the ingredients together with your hands.
6. Add the meat mixture to a non-stick bread pan. Top with the remaining ½ cup of bread crumbs and a few shakes of smoked paprika to the top.
7. Put the meatloaf in the oven and bake it at 450° for 1 hour.
