I recently visited Sneakers Bistro and Cafè in Winooski, Vermont with my boyfriend and his family. We were pleased to discover that they had recently renovated the second floor into a coffee bar! The space is open, light, and potentially a great venue for parties and business events too.
The coffee was good! Ian ordered a breve which is a thicker and creamier cappuccino made with half and half. I tried a sip of it and thought that it was delicious!
He ordered the Chicken-N-Waffles, priced at $14.00, which according to him was very good! He did say that it could have used more of the sausage gravy—consider asking for a bit extra because it did look a little dry.
I ordered the California Benedict priced at $13.00. It’s served with delicious veggie sausage, spinach, roasted portobellos, grilled tomato, avocado, two poached eggs, and hollandaise sauce on a fresh-baked croissant with home fries.
I absolutely love Eggs Benedict and order it whenever I have the chance. This Benedict surpassed all of my expectations. The unique combination of vegetables make it outstanding to me among all of the others that I’ve tried. The buttery and sweet flavors of the croissant were the best addition to this dish. I think more restaurants should be swapping out the classic english muffin in favor of this French pastry.
The home fries needed to spend a bit less time in the oven to be perfect, but I still enjoyed them despite being a tad burnt. It’s also worth noting that I had plenty of leftovers to bring home to snack on. I love that!
I’ve had the Classic Eggs Benedict and the Crab Cake Benedict from Sneakers too. In my opinion, the California Benedict is much better than both of them combined. I highly recommend the California Benedict—you won’t be disappointed.
I also love the atmosphere of this restaurant too! It’s very welcoming and has an old school brunch spot atmosphere. There lots of exposed brick giving the space a rustic and industrial feel.
Sneakers is a popular spot that many Vermont locals frequent for a good reason. If you’re ever in the area, check this restaurant out. Leave me a comment below with the dishes that you love the most from Sneakers.
