It’s the hallmark holiday entirely dedicated to celebrating love. You either love it or love to hate it. While it gets some people down in the dumps, I see it as an opportunity to say “I Love You” to my friends, family, and to myself too! I started thinking about how I’m going to spend this year and these were the activities that came to mind.
1. Start The Day With Your Favorite Coffee.
I need to start every day with a good strong cup of coffee to be truly ready to start any day. Brio Coffeeworks and Paradiso Farm coffee are two of my favorites!
2. Go Skiing or “Spa-ing.”
I love spending time outside! My favorite winter sport (second to snowmobiling) is skiing because it gets me into a very meditative and relaxed state. I recently fell in love with Smuggler’s Notch in Jeffersonville, Vermont for its beautifully groomed “blue trails.”
If skiing isn’t your thing, check into your local spa for the day! The Essex Resort & Spa in Essex, Vermont offers day passes where you can access the relaxation room, outdoor hot tub, indoor pool, and locker room with showers stocked with aromatherapeutic products. You can also get a variety of spa treatments including massages, manicures, pedicures, and more!
3. Break Out Your Best Skin Care.
My routine consists of a cleanser, exfoliator, mask, toner, serum or a rich moisturizer, and a lip balm because my skin type is dry, acne-prone, and sensitive. I personally think that on a “pamper day” you should break out your products with the richest formulations! I enjoy using the Best Ever Moisturizer by Verde Goddess which is available for purchase at Kalm Skincare. It’s so luxurious!
4. Take A “Luxurious” Shower or Bath.
You need to take some time to pamper yourself today instead of hopping in and out. It’s time to break out your most luxurious body scrub, lip scrub, HoneyBath, body wash, CBD bath bomb, and plushiest bathrobe. I, unfortunately, don’t have a bathtub, but I do have the perfect ledge in my shower for champagne. This is definitely an indulgent experience that I don’t do often, but when I do it makes me feel like I’m really living my best bachelorette life!
5. Light Your Favorite Candle.
I love my Lavender & Lace candle from Little Light Co. which is perfect for Valentine’s Day. This candle is all-natural, made with soy wax, and fragranced with 100% French Lavender essential oil! It’s such a calming smell–perfect for your much needed day dedicated to relaxation.
6. Dinner With Your Best Girlfriends.
I’m fortunate to have girlfriends who are all about celebrating Galentine’s Day on Valentine’s Day instead. I’m returning from my snowmobiling vacation on the 14th so we’ll be celebrating the following weekend by going out to dinner and some good ol’ fashioned ax-throwing fun at Burly Axe Throwing! COVID-19 concerns? You don’t need to go out to have fun! You can grab take out from a locally owned restaurant like A Single Pebble or Cafe Mamajuana and skip straight to #7.
7. Netflix & Chocolate.
Do you see what I did there? 😉 That’s right! We going full-on Elle Woods minus the man drama honey! Throw on your snuggliest pair of pajamas and jump back into bed with your favorite chocolate. Are You The One is currently on my Netflix watch list.
I hope that you enjoyed my single girl’s guide to surviving Valentine’s Day during a pandemic. I love and appreciate my friends and family so much. I am so incredibly lucky to have them in my life. What are you doing to celebrate this year? Let me know in the comments below! 👇
